Atherosclerosis: Cholesterol is not a disease; it is an organic substance that our body uses as a building block for many hormones, vitamines and cellular structures..but in excess such as in diabetes and morbid obesity (excessive overweight), cholestereol accumulates on the inside of your blood vessels to make them narrow and rigid.
