Gallbladder ?: Female with intermittent "stabbing abdominal pain" that starts "suddenly at night" might have gallbladder dysfunction issues. A Gastroenterogist should be consulted. If the pain becomes constant, associated with vomiting, fever, or progressively increasing intensity, then an urgent care visit is in order to rule out an acute gallbladder infection, which can be serious.

Stabbing pains in my abdomen: Are there other symptoms, such as irregular bowels;rectal bleeding , fever;nausea/ vomiting; back pain; menses irregularity to help make diagnosis.. is it related to alcohol or food eaten before bed, if so, what type of food . Do you take any medicine to treat or just goes away by AM? One cause can be stress related;during day busy+distracted, night -much time to worry. This could be IBS
