A member asked:

Long eyelashes poking me in the eye. i understand their purpose but it's irritating. would trimming be recommended before getting contacts?

Not necessarily: I too have unusually long lashes and have worn rigid gas permeable lenses for 45 years without problems. Trimming your lashes won't help as they grow back within 3 weeks. You may have a few aberrant lashes that can be epitated by your comprehensive ophthalmologist that makes it easier for you.
