Yes: Historically, Infectious mononucleosis has been referred to as the kissing disease as mainly teenagers and college age children were affected and transmission is through saliva by either kissing or sharing beverages. Strep is a contagious infection and also transmitted by sharing germs either by kissing, sharing drinks, or close contact.
