A member asked:

How effective is rice (rest, ice, compression, elevation) for treating tennis elbow?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tennis elbow: tennis elbow is caused by degeneration of a tendon at its insertion at the outside of your elbow. It is not easy to treat. The first line is rest ice anti-inflammatory medications. Stretching can help. Physical therapy may use a scraping of the tissue thru the skin to stimulate healing. Shots of steroid are usually only tempory relief. Sometimes surgery is the last choice.
