What complications are associated with a vaginal mesh?

Mesh Complications: Depending on the type of mesh used (i.e., sling for incontinence or larger mesh kits for prolapse) the symptoms can include: difficulty urinating, urinary infections, pelvic pain, pain during intercourse, bleeding with/after intercourse, vaginal mesh exposure, mesh erosion into other organs, pain with bowel movements. For slings, the complication rate is low ~ 5-10%. High for mesh kits ~30-35%.
