A member asked:

Is there anything a child can do to prevent night terrors?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sleep deprivation: Sleep issues like sleep walking or night terrors are often found in kids with poor sleep habits. The average teen needs 8-9 hrs/night & occasionally more during growth spurts. If the kid is pushing the limit & developing a sleep deficit these issues come out. Discuss you kids case with doctor & see if other issues need to be assessed with a sleep study, but improving sleep habits may help.
