A number of things..: Managing chronic constipation often requires a number of coordinated strategies! Drinking a lot of water, 64+ oz, daily is #1. Then make sure you get fiber in your diet: whole grain cereal, brown rice, generous fruits and vegetables. Finally, daily exercise 30-45 minutes. For some, it takes daily attention to all 3 to solve the problem. Sometimes Miralax (polyethylene glycol) needs to be added to these. Good wishes:)
