Probably OK: 5 HTP/5-hydroxytryptophan can be used in the treatment of headaches. Warnings are out there to avoid with some opiates including demerol, (meperidine hydrochloride) but I don't see any specific interaction with codeine. Feverfew seems to interfere with drugs metabolized by the liver; should be ok with 5-HTP. There are probably more effective acute AND preventive migraine medicines to try; ask your doctor. Good wishes:)

Treat vs prevent: General info:5HTP,Feverfew,Butterbur,riboflavin,&magnesium are supplements w variable evidence supporting use for migraine prevention (not acute treatment). In my clinic, best results w latter 3.Acute treatment w NSAIDS or acetaminophen can help, but regular use can CAUSE headaches.Opiates,eg codeine can lead to chronic migraines;use only if instructed by your doc.Headache>72 hrs=call your doc for Rx
