Usually about 2 days: Most simple biopsies, even those with cancer, are usually completed in 2 working days from the date of the procedure.

Short time: If very suspicious for Ca then a touch prep is performed and results almost immediately. When a specimen is placed into paraffin it can take up to 1 wk to get results since specimen is slowly infiltrated with paraffin, then sectioned and then stained prior to a formal reading and report.
