Infection : The last molar must be erupting and as a result it cuts thru the skin creating a flap. You should see your dentist who will be able to remove it. When you have a flap food gets stuck in it and becomes a haven for bacteria. This leads to him infection and also tooth decay. See your dentist as soon as you can

Swollen gums: Food and bacteria gets trapped under the flap causing an infection called pericorinitis. This can be treated in a number of ways. If it is behind a wisdom tooth, the best treatment is removal of the wisdom tooth. If it is behind the 2nd molar, the infection can be treated with antibiotics and minor gum surgery to clean the area and possibly remove the flap. See your dentist or a periodontist.

Gum infection: or inflammation of the gum tissue around last molar tooth. See a dentist because this condition can be tricky to treat. Best of luck.
