A member asked:

I have lipomas on left side of body. one big one in left calf. and one in left rib area. tells me don't worry. but how does he know not liposarcoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Get it removed : While it is rare for lipomas to turn into liposarcoma, a large lipoma especially on the arms or legs should be removed completely as those locations have a higher risk. Larger lipomas have a higher risk. Sometimes an MRI before surgery can give clues as to the possibility of finding a sarcoma.
