Pelvic us says this: dominant 1.5 cm follicle on left ovary. what does this mean?

Probably normal: sounds like a maturing follicle cyst during normal ovulation. These can get much larger than 1.5cm (less than 1 inch), and usually go away by 3 months. Most are not painful. In other words, that is normal.
