Wrist splint: A wrist splint will often be advised for an acute sprain of the wrist. Not knowing the specifics of why your wrist is swollen you may want to have your wrist examined, particularly if it's not improving soon.

UseBrace/get checked: You can use a brace but since your wrist is swollen it should be checked by your doctor to find the cause of the swelling Is it swollen because of an injury or due to some other condition.Do get it checked but using a wrist brace will not hurt

R.I.C.E.: Treatment of a sprains and strains is often accomplished with the " RICE " method. Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Use an Ace bandage, wrap the wrist overlapping the elastic wrap by one-half of the width of the wrap. The wrap should be snug, but not cutting off circulation to the extremity. Injury might need further evaluation by x-ray depending on severity to rule out possible fracture
