See MD: Unexplained bleeding is always a concern and must be evaluated. You need to see a physician as soon as possible in the next day or so. If the bleeding is worse, you need to go to the Emergency Room. You may need to be on iron replacement if your blood counts are lower. Good luck.

Not likely serious: It would help to know what your normal cycles are like, when your next period is due and whether or not you're using hormonal contraception. Hormonal fluctuations can cause intermenstrual spotting and occasional changes in your period. If you're sure the blood isn't coming from you bladder and you're not bleeding heavily, you can take a wait-and-see approach. If it recurs, see you gyno.
