Yes: True glomerular filtration rate is very hard to determine, but it can be estimated crudely using the creatinine clearance, which looks at serum and urine creatinine concentrations in a timed and volume-measured urine. This in turn is far more accurate than the subscientific estimate of GFR that's often part of a lab panel.
