Many possibilities: It is impossible for anyone here to answer this without seeing it, but one thing I can be sure of is that is not "stress building up." It might be a pimple, a benign cyst, a swollen lymph node etc. It probably is not serious but if it does not go away it might be wise to have it looked at by your doctor.
