A member asked:

I have otitis externa in my left ear and my dr said i don't have it in my right ear but it feels almost the same as the other. itchy and hurts at time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Form Ear To There: Usually (not always) whatever causes the otitis externa will affect both ears (unless, I guess, you sat in your car through the car wash with the window down...)(or your doctor is blind in one eye). So if it feels like it, just treat it with the drops given you for the other ear (just be confident you can hear ok out of that ear), probably no harm done. But if it doesn't work let your doctor know.
