Vestibular dysfunct.: Vestibular neuritis and labyrinthitis result from infection in the inner ear or the nerves connecting the inner ear to the brain. This disrupts transmission of sensation from ear to brain. Vertigo, dizziness, and difficulties with balance, vision, or hearing may result. Migraine usually adds pain to the equation, but vertigo may also create nausea and vomiting.
