No: tramadoll has no SSRI in it. Tramadol (ultram) is an opiate agonist, similar to opiates, for the treatment of pain. The issue with tramadol and SSRI, like zoloft, (sertraline) is that when taken together they interact and can lead to potentially fatal interactions.

Psych fx of Tramadol: Tramadol is not a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. It cannot be directly compared to Zoloft (sertraline). In addition to activating some types of opiate receptors, tramadol does exert serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibition at clinically-used doses. Tramadol combined with SSRI meds can trigger the serotonin syndrome. Tramadol may have antidepressant fx, but is definitely an off-label use.
