Safe: The eyelid is numbed up and generally it is flip over so that the incision is on the underside and not visible. You might have some bruising and swelling afterwards for a couple of weeks. Recommendations for make-up use is different based how frequently you develop chalazions. If this is the first time, then no make-up for a couple of weeks is reasonable. Otherwise, discuss with your surgeon.
