Excellent Question : The starting point here would be to see your doctor for an evaluation to rule out an underlying medical cause of the forgetfulness. Nortriptyline is NOT a good choice because it has anticholinergic activity which usually makes memory worse. You need cholinergic neurons and acetylcholine to formulate memories in the brain. Suggest you read about Alzheimer's Dementia and it's treatment.
