Swollen lip: The swollen lip could be an allergic reaction or Herpes Simplex. The response to an antihistamine is suggestive of an allergic reaction and as it is confined to the one lip this suggests contact allergy. As the antihistamine works, take it every 6 hours until the swelling no longer appears. Try to identify what touched your lip that was different. Response not good treat for Herpes Simplex.
