Swollen lip: The swollen lip could be an allergic reaction or Herpes Simplex. The response to an antihistamine is suggestive of an allergic reaction and as it is confined to the one lip this suggests contact allergy. As the antihistamine works, take it every 6 hours until the swelling no longer appears. Try to identify what touched your lip that was different. Response not good treat for Herpes Simplex.

Swollen lip: are you on an ACE inhibitor for blood pressure control---if you are you need to check with your doctor soon Have you changed your lip stick or lip gloss brands----you could be having an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients . Follow up with your doctor--continue with the antihistamine RX until checked by your doctor
