Unfortunately: Unfortunately you will have to see your PCP to examine you to confirm a hernia.

Disappearing bulge: For abdominal and groin hernias, there is usual a bulge that goes away when you lay down and/or push it back in the abdominal cavity. This represents abdominal contents coming through a hole (hernia). If you have one, you should see you primary care provider at the next available appointment. Hope this helps!
