My wife had her copper iud fall out. had the skyla put in. went back four weeks later and is still in place. what are chances it will stay in place?

Very high: having an IUD fall out from the uterus is possible. However, it is pretty rare. Most expulsions seem to occur within the first four weeks after placement. Any woman with an IUD in place should be self aware of it. She may self check for the strings in the vagina if desired. Sometimes, the strings may be hard to feel though. Skyla is a good choice. It also may serve to reduce menstrual bleeding.
