Make sure you are keeping the wound clean and covered, antibiotic ointment may help, but you may need oral antibiotics as well.

This is the only way to know for sure if it's infected and also receive the appropriate treatment both for the laceration and for any potential infection. This can be done at a local urgent or primary care clinic.
