Lip infections: Interestingly, infections in injuries to the face are uncommon. This is because the face (including the lips) is highly vascular. So, although infections are uncommon, it should be said that your severe lip laceration may be infected despite the facts listed above. Get checked by a physician and examined--it's the only way to know if your lip is infected or not!
