A member asked:

Badly bruised leg on bedframe, almost 2 weeks ago still purplish on back of leg and stingy pain on laceration site. is this infected or usual healing?

Not normal: The potential of skin infection is very real especially if tetanus immunity is not up to date. Extremities do take longer to heal but don't risk missing a potential infection. Seek out medical care for an exam since there was a break in the skin and you still have pain.

Infected: After two weeks you should see your doctor... If it was badly lacerated and you didn't receive treatment it could very well be infected.... Also check your tetanus status...
