Herpes zoster: This virus, when creating "shingles" may create a post-herpetic neuralgia which usually manifests by pain but which may affect nerve impulse transmission. Even if that were the case, however, it does not mean that your numbness in the right hand is necessarily due to that. You may have carpal tunnel syndrome or other issues. Best to be seen by neurologist and evaluated.
