I have been on antibiotics for 5 days and though my sinus infection is a lot better, i have no smell/taste still. is this normal? what could be wrong?

Will resolve: As the olfactory system controls taste and smell sinus infections can cause a disruption temporarily. It will return once the sinuses are clear.

Normal: Very normal. Can be several weeks sometimes before sense of smell and taste return. If you are over your infection for a month or more and sense of smell and taste have not returned, please see your doctor for evaluation. Hope this answer was helpful. Best of luck. Dr R
