Whichever is sooner: A firm area in the testicle near the epididymis may be a cyst in the epididymis may also be a mass within the testicle worrisome for a malignancy or cancerous. If there is significant pain present then go to ER to rule out torsion. If no pain then see doctor who will do exam and likely get an ultrasound to start. If a mass is suspected then additional blood tests and CT scan may be done
