RICE & ASO brace: RICE. Rest - avoid weight bearing as much as possible Ice - apply for 15-20 every 1-2 hours Compression - wrap it with an ACE bandage or ASO brace Elevation - elevate ankle above the level of the heart as much as possible. An ASO brace is a special type of ankle brace that will help your ankle to heal more quickly, enable you to bear weight without pain, and help prevent re-injury.
