I have a permenetly dilated eye (5mm), 6 weeks after retinal detachment surgery taht included a scleral buckle and an oil filled vitretcomy. do buckles cause this problem ?

Nerve injury : The permanently dilated pupil could be from injury to the postganglionic parasympathetic fibers in the short ciliary nerves. If endolaser treatment was used along with the scleral buckle, it could cause such an injury.

I had 3 retinal detachment surgeries. The first was the scleral buckle then it tore from traction due to scar tissue. It tore a second time they then did the silicon oil method to help. When finished will I ever be able to get the buckle taken off?
