Sounds like you have: Swelling in that area. Without knowing more about whether you have pain at your ankle or pain at your calf or other issues going on - and I can't see or examine your ankle - it's not clear if this swelling related to impaired venous/lymphatic drainage which can happened after surgery in that area, or if it's related to intrinsic joint issues or even a blood clot. Have your doc check it out.
