Possibly: You really need to be examined to differentiate an L3 nerve 'pinched' nerve vs hip arthritis. This nerve commonly refers pain to the hip, buttock and groin. True hip arthritis causes pain in the same general area but is usually worse w/ weight bearing.Hip arthritis usually causes loss of motion( difficulty tying shoes, etc).see a board certified ORS for examination.
