Depends: Hypothyroidism is of concern in pregnancy if it is not diagnosed and treated. Anti thyroid antibodies, if present, can cross the placenta and effect the developing fetal thyroid. Diagnosis and treatment can provide protection for the baby. Hope this helps. Best wishes to you and your baby.

I was diagnosed with a low thyroid problem, i was pregnat at the time and was immediately put on medication. I had medicaid insurance then and was prescribed the meds by my doctor. I don't have insurance now and haven't been on my medication since 11/10/2
