Path report : when a D and C is done the tissue is sent for review by a pathologist. It will be analyzed. If molar tissue is present it will be identified

Recheck labs...: If a repeat hcg level after a couple of days is markedly decreased, it could be a blighted ovum. However, if the hcg level does not reduce or drops more slowly, especially in light of heterogenous material, I would more likely suspect a molar pregnancy. Please continue to follow up with your doctor to complete treatment.

Empty gest. sac: A blighted ovum happens when a fertilized egg implants into the uterine lining, but the embryo does not develop. A diagnosis is usually not made when an ultrasound shows either an empty womb or an empty gestational sac. Your doctor should be able to answer this question for you. There is usually a high level of chromosome abnormalities which causes a woman’s body to naturally miscarry.
