Yes it's fine: Protein drinks typically have less than 30g protein per serving, which is perfectly safe as a snack or meal supplement. People are cautioned against drinking too many protein shakes, because large servings of unbalanced protein can overload your kidneys. Consider eating protein in egg, meat or tofu form. It tends to be MUCH cheaper than protein shakes, ounce for ounce!
