You're free to ask: Despite all the emphasis on lifestyle, which is good, most cholsterol stuff is more about heredity than anything else. I also notice that you have type II diabetees and are being treated with antihypertensives. I think there may be a statin in your future. Bring it up and you and your physician can decide together.
