Please suggest some important questions i can ask my dentist about dental implants.

What: What is your fee and how long before i can have the crown?

What: What is/are possible bad side effects, if any? Cost and time involved with the procedure.

Most: Most important question to ask is whether you are a candidate for dental implants or not.

Whats: What's the cost? Why an implant rather then another treatment such as a bridge.

How: How many have you done? How long have you done them? What's your success rate? Do i need a 3d x-ray?

How: How long have you been doing dental implants? How many have you done? What is your training?

Ask: Ask if removing healthy tooth structure on adjacent teeth for a bridge is a good idea or implant better.

Though: Though allergy to titanium is rare, it does occur and can cause rejection--ask if you have allergies.

Know: Know total cost, insurance covered, how many sessions, same dentist from start to finish, any graft.

If: If your dentist is placing the implants, ask them about their training and number of surgeries done.

Do: Do I have adequate bone for it to be a simple case?

When: When can it be restored? How do I care for the implants?

If: If you need an implant in the esthetic zone, ask your dds if you are a candidate 4 immediate load.

If: If i need a bone graft to get an implant, can we not use cadaver bone but prp instead?

How: How long do they last? Can they break? What contraindications are there to having the treatment?

Training: Training /background, experience, credentials, pt. Testimonials. Feel the genuine care they take 4 u.

Will: Will you make me a custom abutment? How many implants have you restored? Who is your surgeon?

Ignore: Ask if there is a reduced fee when multiple implants are placed at the same time.

Ignore: Do I have enough bone that is required to get an implant?

Ignore: Am i a candidate? If not what can be done to make me one? How long will it take? When can i chew on?
