Why do all the dentists i have consulted with always say he/she has performed thousands of dental implants. who is saying the truth?

Dental implants: not sure. I do not know of anyway you could check as they are mostly done in their offices and not in hospitals or surgery centers that have to keep records of procedures providers perform. Sorry. Dr R

Maybe they have...: ... have you been going to experience practitioners, or someone right out of school for your consultations? It is not uncommon for specialists to reach that number before generalists since many generalists do not perform the surgery. Go with the specialist who makes you most comfortable... I'm sure you'll be happy.

Expertise, not #'s: In my opinion, how many procedures that a professional has performed is only one criteria for judging who to have treat you. I would rather have a properly trained, dedicated, caring dentist, who comes highly recommended by a friend or health care professional whom I trust treat me than a dentist in a clinic situation with low fees, insurance driven and a zillion procedures done treat me.
