Neck arthritis, told to do surgery, too risky. but now she suffers from pain. pls advise. her hand gets numb.?

Cervical traction: Physical therapy might help you. The therapist can have you try traction, and if this helps, you can do home cerivcal traction using very inexpensive equipment. Your hand numbness might be coming from a neck problem (i.e. A 'pinched nerve'), but it might be from something else such as carpal tunnel syndrome. An EMG (a test for carpal tunnel syndrome, etc) might be useful.

Injections!: When arthritis becomes advanced it will result in a condition called stenosis, which is a narrowing of the openings where the nerves come out of and go to the arms. The arms can become numb, tingly or painful and sometimes weak. Never do surgery until all else is attempted. Injections into the cervical epidural space, selective nerve root blocks and sometimes facet joint injections can help a ton.
