Hand surgeon: I recommend getting another opinion from a hand surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. I find it hard to believe that a neck problem would cause such a localized symptom in a distal area like one finger.

Related?: Is the nerve damage in your neck related to the symptoms in the finger? That is one question to answer. It may not be related. If there is a lot of median nerve damage in the carpal tunnel, the residual symptoms may feel like what you describe. What was your median motor latency at the wrist, on the EMG report? Did you have an EMG study before your surgery? These answers would help.
