Tetanus: This is uncommon in the USA because of immunizations. There are less than 70 cases a year. Since boosters are recommended every 10 years you should be fine, but it would not hurt if you went and got the booster now. You don't say where the puncture wound was. If in the sole of the foot make sure there is no infection. If the pain continues make sure the bristles did not break off in the wound.
