Discs: Problems with intervertebral discs are either bulging or protrusion(herniation). Cracking of a disc is a term I am not familiar with. When the disc presses on a nerve root or the actual spinal cord, various symptoms of radiating pain, numbness, tingling or muscle weakness occur in different areas depending on which levels of roots or spinal cord are affected seen on an MRI.
