Heredity: Our genetics or heredity influence the basic shape of our bodies. Weight gain will clearly show where you put on the extra weight: pear=hips/thighs/buttocks. Apple=trunk/belly enlarge.
Exercise and diet reduce fat in reverse to the gain from overeating. You may strengthen certain areas with exercises, but you can't change your bodies basic structure.
