A member asked:

Have laryngitis for days. does gargling with saltwater help? will flovent 110 make it worse?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Laryngitis: Flovent is an inhaled steroid designed to reduce the outbreaks of asthma (not to treat acute asthma). Laryngitis is often the result of viral infection resulting in swelling and other inflammatory changes to the vocal cords. This may in part be reduced by steroids, but at the risk of reducing effective host responses to the virus and inducing secondary infections.
