Yes: Long term dehydration can always have dire consequences. If you see extreme dehydration, the consequences can only be even more serious. Dehydration can cause dry mucous membranes. And does membranes when they get to dry, be easy to get irritated and inflamed. Congestion can follow any kind of inflammation. If you or anyone you know has,"extreme dehydration", go to the closest Emergency room.
