For pain: Rinse several time a day with a 50/50 mix of Maalox and liquid Benadryl (diphenhydramine). Rinse only. Do not swallow it. The Benadryl (diphenhydramine) acts as an anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. The Maalox helps it to stick and creates a protective coating. If you can get a prescription for viscous lidocaine then add this to the mix as well. Eat softer, bland foods while having an outbreak. See M.D. About possible causes.
