Too much: You are thinking about too much weight loss. Try to lose more like 2 -3 lbs a week at most. Consider making lifelong lifestyle changes. Eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Try to exercise 5x/week, for about an hr at a time. Jogging, or brisk walking would be great. Good luck

Too much, too fast: You're far more likely to succeed if you start with a reasonable monthly goal and work safely from there. At age 16, I'd suggest seeing your doctor to have a complete physical and work on a diet & exercise plan. The key is consistency and achieving measurable goals at regular intervals. Don't forget - diet is equally important as exercise In achieving sustainable good health. g'luck!

Weight loss: Forty five pounds in 2 months may be too much and too fast. Exercise is key to good cardiac health but the real secret to weight loss is DIET! There are many well designed weight loss plans and given the large amount of weight loss needed I recommend consulting your doctor first.

Unrealistic: to lose 45 lbs in 2 months. 1-2 lbs per week is achievable with high protein, low carb diet and a mixture of aerobic and resistance exercises. To lose 1 lb of fat requires burning 3500 calories more than you consume. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Unreasonable: 45 pound loss in two months is not a reasonable expectation. That would be a 6-12 month goal. There is no shortcut. The key is your intake. Low carbs, low-moderate fat, protein. Water, water, water. No soda, not even diet. Once a week give yourself a day to enjoy yourself. Take the stairs, walk after meals, and moderate exercise 3-4 X per week. Good luck, and be patient.
